Artwork Requirements

Artwork can be supplied in one of two ways:

Disk:

  • We accept CDs and DVDs. A print out or proof must be supplied with the disk, particularly for colour jobs. Image area only - NO CROP MARKS.

    Email:

  • Files must be under 10MB. Image area only - NO CROP MARKS. Artwork to be sent to artwork@drummedia.com.au, attention: Advertising.

  • Specs for Artwork

    File Types:

  • We accept jpeg, tiff, eps, PDF, Indesign CS3 & EARLIER, ILLUSTRATOR 11 & EARLIER. We DO NOT accept Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel or any other word processing documents as finished artwork.

    Resolution:

  • Image files (tiffs, jpegs, etc) must be a minimum of 200 dpi.

    Four Colour:

  • Full colour files are to be supplied as CMYK only. All colour PDF, Illustrator and Quark files to contain CMYK files only, no RGB files. All Pantone colours should be converted to CMYK.

    Spot Colour:

  • Spot colour files are to be supplied as CMYK documents, the colour you wish them to appear in print. DO NOT SEND SEPARATE PLATES. Please convert any Pantone colours used to CMYK.

  • Indesign Files:
  • Indesign 3.0 preferred, earlier versions accepted. All fonts and images must be supplied. A proof / print out must be supplied.

    Illustrator Files:

  • Illustrator files must be saved as Illustrator 11 or an earlier version. All fonts must be either supplied or outlined (converted to paths). All images must be either greyscale or CMYK and embedded or supplied. All drop shadows and transparencies must be flattened.

    PDF Files:

  • All PDFs must have all fonts embedded.

    Results from The Drum Media Readers Poll which ran throughout January 2000 reflected the following information about Drum readers.

    Statistical Response

  • The average age is between 18-24 years (46.7%) with 29.3% falling in the 9-17 year age bracket. With 20% in the 25-32 age bracket it becomes apparent that Drum Media is firmly established in the youth market.
  • The magazine successfully reaches both male and female reader with 45.6% of the respondents male and 54.4% female.
